Fuck Off, Russell Crowe

I, like many of you woke up thinking that I’ve already seen the best clip involving the American Gladiators’ Malibu. Of course the now, kinda, sorta infamous “Malibu Talks about his injury clip” which also features arguably america’s least talented announcer; Mike Adamle

And it’s fair to think that this clip would be the best Malibu clip. Fair, that is, unless you’re aware of his 1991 LEADING ROLE in the indy sensation THE KILLING ZONE. Here’s a plot summary on IMDB:

Years ago, Sam Bodine barely survived his first encounter with Mexican drug kingpin Carmen Vasquez, and when Sam’s nephew Garrett Bodine went after Carmen for it, Garrett was sent to prison for assault. Now,Sam runs a hangout with his fiancée Jenny, and Garrett is longing for the day when he is released so he can once again see his fiancée Tracy-and he may get that chance. Carmen’s brother Pablo Vasquez is murdered in his cell at the Arizona prison that Garrett is in, and Carmen arrives in Los Angeles, where Sam lives, to make everyone responsible for sending Pablo to prison pay, and Sam’s former partner, DEA agent Jack Slade, gets Garrett an early release so Garrett and Sam can go after Carmen.

So I know what you’re thinking, throw your DVD of Gladiator out (seriously, not to be too bloggy, but wasn’t that the most overrated movie ever?) and snap into THE KILLING ZONE. Not convinced to run to your local Johnny Foodmaster to get it, yet? TRY THIS SCENE ON FOR SIZE

OK, So now you’re probably thinking; “Sure, it’s got the drama and on scene chemistry that Gladiator had, but what I really liked about that movie was the fight scenes. And I’m not sure if a movie entitled THE KILLING ZONE will have any of those kind of sequences.”

WRONG!

Preparing for the Office

With The Office returning in a little under a week I’d imagine a lot of anticipation is building up. And with what appears to be a fairly rainy weekend coming up many might think about scheduling some ‘catching up to speed’ over the next few days.

And of course, the obvious choice is to watch all the episodes over on illegal sites like this one, but as a fan of the show, let me tell you, watching episodes is a complete waste of time. I’ll tell you where the real gold mine is: YouTube; the ultimate source for completely over the top Jim & Pam tribute videos. Like this one (A Becca Production, for all you big Becca fans out there) entitled “Better Man” which fits the song because it appears to be about domestic abuse.

I know, I Know, I know you’re probably saying, “Hey Man, that song was pretty over-the-top but I really thought that it could’ve kicked up a notch… I dunno…. something by Evanescence maybe?”

And of course I must admit that during an entire year of my life watching videos like these became a secret obsession of mine (if you really want the good ones try searching for Final Fantasy videos). So much so that I created my own for a comedy show I wrote and starred in….I’ll give 500 Stanley nickels to the first person who can point me out.
